The Mising, a tribe of the Sino-Tibetan ethnic group inhabit mostly in North Eastern states of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. The origin of the term “ Mising” which literally means “ Man of the soil” is believed to be coming from the river named Siang that connects with river Brahmaputra in Assam. The Mising culture is known for its traditional craft of weaving, which are bright, colorful and unique pattern make it different from other ethnic group of the region.
