Karbi “arleng” (meaning man) are among the earliest inhabitants of the North Easterngeography. Presently Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong and some valley districts of Assam are home to majority of karbi people. Karbi textile fabrics are very rich in tradition and cultural significance. Traditionally Karbi weavers used natural colors like white, indigo and red which were extracted from wild herbs, which are now a day’s replaced by some other yarns.
